This post could be subtitled "Why I don't have any faith in the GOP as led by John Boehner."
On 09/15, the Congressional Budget Office released an estimate of the economic impact of eliminating the penalty for not having health insurance. The result? It would reduce the deficit by about $305 billion between now and 2025.
This is not the first time the CBO has written such an opinion. Indeed, they've been fairly consistent with that message for the past 5 years.
So why isn't the GOP braying this from the debate stage?
According to the CBO, repealing the penalty would mean more uninsured people and less subsidies to the insurance industry.
So there's the answer. Pork - the other Red meat.
