What a very kind statement, Georg!

I'm going to take a little time over the next few days, but I've got a couple of thoughts about this whole experience that I might post here before it's all said and done.

After congratulating you on your great facebook page, as I already have, the next thing that I was going to shout over the pond in your direction is: I hope you will be able to take some rest from your herculean efforts of the last months.

I am totally excited to know for sure now that you of all persons will be involved in the practical politics of legislature. That is exactly where you - thinker and doer - belong with your ideal portfolio of qualities.

At a time when too many among us lovers of liberty despise politics and turn their backs on democracy and involvement in the governmental dimension, it comes as a great joy to me that you, dear Laura, will represent the cause of liberty in the world of real politics.

Perhaps the most important lesson that, much inspired by your wonderful example, I have learned by participating in this blog is just how important for freedom is the hard, hard work of a practical politician.

Thank you, Laura for your tremendous efforts that, in the end, have most deservedly been "crowned with success," as the German idiom goes.

Again, thank you, Georg. I got a decent night's sleep last night (Wednesday) for the first time in months. Looks like the life of a Nebraska legislator will be busy--I had 7 or 8 call from current state senators yesterday, another one today, and 4 notes from others in the mail today--plus, several organizations have contacted me about "saving the date" for one event or another--both before and after the start of the legislative session in January....
