Assuming that you've heard about the temper tantrums President Obama is throwing over the government shutdown? Shutting down parks, oceans, houses, private parking lots, emergency lanes with a view - all while spending more money than it would cost just to continue to do business as usual.
President Obama isn't going to back down. He isn't a negotiator, he isn't a deal maker. He's a bully who will stop at nothing to get his way. And that's his Achilles heel.
The GOP should be taunting him mercilessly now. Obama is like a cat in that he doesn't like to be laughed at. It makes him angry. Making him angry makes him lose his cool, and making him lose his cool will force him to new levels of ridiculous behaviors.
Rand Paul scored a home run last week when he said that Obama sent more troops to the WWII Memorial than he did to Benghazi. Check out the comments on that link - the liberals were mad that someone dared to mock their president. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't...who cares? It's red meat for the base - the perfect blend of cynicism and antagonism.
Bobby Jindal, governor of Louisiana and head of the Republican Governor's Association, recently said he blames the gridlock on leadership in both parties. Sorry, but I disagree. I am beyond thrilled to see Boehner's GOP finally standing firm on something, even though I fully realize his heart isn't really in it. He's stuck between the Tea Party and an election year. I'll take it.
What we need here are some GOP governors willing to stand up to Obama in their states, for no other reason than to make him look foolish and petty, which he is. The more they can do this, the more mean-spirited and absurd his behavior will become. And when America sees the real man behind the carefully crafted victim mask, they won't like being used as puppets in his personal little passion play.
