Here’s the headline of a piece just coming to light:
Air Force Cites New Testament, Ex-Nazi, to Train Officers on Ethics of Launching Nuclear Weapons
The mandatory Nuclear Ethics and Nuclear Warfare session, which includes a discussion on St. Augustine's "Christian Just War Theory," is led by Air Force chaplains and takes place during a missile officer's first week in training at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
As warped as that is, you’ll never guess the one-and-only presidential candidate neatly tied into the story:
The Christian Just War Theory has been touted by Rep. Ron Paul, a 2012 presidential candidate, during campaign stops.
Truly amazing.
Hmmm. So the anti-war candidate who has used just-war theory to explain how there are very limited times when we are justified in engaging in war is now somehow getting woven in with the war machine we've got? Weird.
The real problem, though, is that most of the people who write this stuff have never read Augustine (and it's entirely possible that the Air Force chaplains haven't either), and so when they hear that the AF talks about "just war" and Ron Paul talks about "just war" that they must be talking about the same thing.
Actually the AF version should be called "self justifying war", perhaps.

Very weird. And let's not forget that the he's once again being tied to the word Nazi.
Not just but self justifying. Good spin on that. You really should join Paul's team after your LibertyFest concludes.
