"I would prefer not to." I remember that well, that little story was a gem.
I've read quite a bit of Garcia-Marquez. 100 Years of Solitude blew me away. And I sometimes feel like Dr. Urbino. Being an ex-sailor I should read your recommend.

Garcia Marquez is a genius. There is not a novel or short story or journalistic account of his that disappointed me (except "News of a Kidnapping," which is very good, but too lengthy).

As my little selection betrays: I am particularly fond of books that are not too long.

Of course, there are superb biooks of considerable length, to some of which I shall draw attention in further posts on (my preferences in) literature.
