I have these pics of Lucky from today. We are great friends. He is supposed to be a difficult dog as far as letting him off the leash is concerned. We solved the problem by letting one another consistently off the leash. Turns out, he is not only extremely well-behaved of his own accord (especially when he is free), he is also a manager of difficult situations; he gives confidence back to dogs that know nothing but the welfare-security of the leash. I see to it that he never gets a chance to catch game, simply by choosing vast (by German, not Nebraskan standards) open landscape and studying conditions and scenery carefully beforehand. It does happen off and on that he gets to chase deer or a hare - an indescribably beautiful picture - as he did two days ago: the hare left him no chance, even though the chase went on for over a mile. I watched the race conveniently thanks to a good choice of theatre.
