It seems an old friend from law school has found himself caught up in the sovereignty movement in the Kindom of Hawaii.   Gary has a knack for coming up with some odd defenses.  The back and forth in court is very amusing, but the story is worth reading the entire article; it gets into a serious discussion of sovereignty.

What Is It About Coffee?!?

Every couple of weeks I swear off of coffee. After drinking the dirty water for about that period of time, I start to get tired and eat more food. It's as if I get an insulin spike or something due to some substance in the java. After switching to tea for a few days, I start to feel better and more energetic, only to somehow find myself in a situation where I start to drink coffee again. Personally, I think Juan Valdez replaced Colonel Sanders in the Pentavirate: that secret society Stuart Mackenzie talks about in the hilarious Mike Myers' movie, So I Married an Axe Murderer:

Poor Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.  First she gives the Russians a "Reset Button" that doesn't really mean what she intends.  Then she goes to Mexico and asks a dumb question about a religious icon.

I wonder whether the State Department lackies who are supposed to be briefing her and making sure she doesn't make these kinds of mistakes are incompetent, or just leaving her out of the loop?
