I received a copy of the Red State Update "How Freedom Sounds" album the other day, and just turned it on. For those of us who enjoy the YouTube videos, the CD is a just the next step. The two spar on audio as well as they do on video--but he advantage (as Dunlap says), is that you don't have to look at their ugly faces.
The language in the album is not really safe for the younger set, otherwise, the irreverent humor that characterizes their videos runs deep in the album.
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the album--most of what I'd seen advertised on the YouTube videos suggested "music", and I wasn't sure I'd be up to listening to much "singing" by Jackie and Dunlap. Fortunately, the songs are interspersed between the typical dialogues between the boys.
The one gripe I have about the album--and maybe this is a function of the CD only having been out a couple of days--is that it's not recognized by iTunes, so when I loaded into my iPod, the names of the tracks are simply "Track 1, Track 2", etc., rather than being specifically identified by name.
Still, it's worth a few laughs, and if you need a little redneck humor, you can buy the CD at the link above.
