A reader who goes by "Texas Little El" sent me this link. Apparently the odds on Ron Paul winning the nomination just keep getting better.
Many of us have watched these number from the Ron Paul part of the sidelines. Why? Because this type of betting is far more reliable than pundits or the Gallup style of polls on whom will win the primaries or the general election.
We have watched Rep. Paul's odds of winning drop from 200:1 to 15:1, 8:1 and now in the last of the 3rd quarter those odds have dropped yet again.
Rep. Paul's odds of winning the Republican Primary have dropped now to 4 to 1 odds. A miraculous drop considering the Mainstream Media ignores Rep. Paul so vehemently.
Just to put it into perspective. Here are the Odds for the other Presidential candidates for winning the primary
Duncan Hunter 100 to 1
Tom Tancredo 50 to 1
Mike Huckabee 15 to 1
Sam Brownback 15 to 1
Fred Thompson 7 to 2
John McCain 5 to 2
Willard (Mitt) Romeny 5 to 2
Rudolph (Rudy) Giuliani 9 to 5
And then:
Notice how close both Ron Paul and Fred Thompson are in odds 4:1 compared to 7:2, half a point difference. This is a man that gets a much greater presence from the MainStream Media yet if he sneezed would be behind Rep. Paul in the odds.
Here are the same odds of them winning the whole thing in November.
Duncan Hunter 200 to 1
Tom Tancredo 100 to 1
Mike Huckabee 50 to 1
Sam Brownback 25 to 1
Willard (Mitt) Romney 8 to 1
Ron Paul 6 to 1
Fred Thompson 4 to 1
John McCain 5 to 1
Rudolph (Rudy) Giuliani 5 to 1
Sportsbook puts Rep Paul ahead of Mitt Romney to win the Presidency at this point! And very little difference between the top 5 contenders.
If you think that Sportsbook has the wrong odds, you need only go to intrade.com and look at the slow steady rise of Rep. Ron Paul as a prediction to win the election. While he isn't close to the top three, he has passed McCain and has a steady growth trend line. None of the other 'Top Tier' can make that claim.
So next time someone tells you that Rep. Ron Paul has no odds of winning the Presidency, tell them "Yes he does, 6 to1"
I can live with 6:1 for a little while.
