Laura Ingraham has been much nicer to every other candidate than she was to Ron Paul.
Tommy Thompson appears to have a fair number of supporters... before today, I didn't realize he had any.
Tommy starts out by thanking his volunteers and staff people. Now he's moving on to "small town values." He grew up in a small town. He's emphasizing all the time he spent campaigning in Iowa, and patronizing the Iowans.
"I believe, just like Ronald Reagan, Ronald Reagan..."
He's been pro-life his whole life. He believes in the right to bear arms. (I can hear the Brownback people in the hall. They seem pretty enthusiastic.)
He supports the Fair Tax. "If Congress passes the Fair Tax, I will sign it before the ink is dry."
Healthcare... he can solve the Medicare problem. I'm not sure how. "Let's require all insurance companies to use the same form" like the W-2 form. We should make sure everyone is insured without resorting to socialized medicine.
He's naming all the women he's known who suffered from breast cancer or ovarian cancer. We're going to "marshall our forces" to defeat cancer the way Reagan defeated communism.
Our oil money is going to a Sheik in Saudi Arabia who is giving it to a terrorist. Tommy is going to "break the umbilical cord" to foreign oil. He favors drilling for oil in Alaska.
Border control is next. "I will build that barrier in the first six months of my presidency." Sounds familiar... "If you're going to come into our country legally, you should learn the American language legally." I'm not sure how they would learn it illegally...
He's going to beef up the military, just like most of the others. We're going to use "global medical diplomacy" to change the hatred of the world toward America.
He's introducing himself again... reminding us that he's Tommy Thompson, he has a wife, and his father served in the military. He's got his family up on the stage, just like Mitt Romney. Poor Ron Paul didn't have his family there. They must have been at the hospital with his wife.
